Tracy Naa Koshie Thompson is a Ghanaian artist based in Accra whose independent practice centers on the plasticity and self-generative patterns of polymers, as well as the ultra-processing of foods. These inquiries extend into a broader fascination with non-human agency and ecological systems, tracing connections between food, geological formations, thermal flux, decomposition, and microbial life.
Underlying this work is a desire to unsettle conventional understandings of food and to interrogate the still-life as a tradition. Her recent output draws on culinary history, microscopy, geology, digital morphogenesis, landscape, and still-life conventions, giving rise to a practice that moves across site-specific and process-based installation, 3D printing, digital topography animation, and cartography.
At PART, she will dive into Vienna and Austria's artistic and cultural landscape, while devoloping new projects.
