Violeta Mansilla is an Argentinian independent curator, researcher, and producer currently conducting a PhD in Gender Studies and Politics. She works in close collaboration with artists and collectives exploring queer identities, performance, and video as hybrid and disobedient languages. Her curatorial projects take the form of installations where action, affect and memory intertwine, rooted in collective fictions capable of imagining and sustaining other possible worlds.
During her residency, Violeta will continue her PhD research, exploring how sexual dissidences build 'living archives' as performative tools for collective empowerment and historical justice, aimed at disrupting official narratives. She aims to engage deeply with Vienna’s queer scene through active conversations with artists/activists and visiting archives, institutional, and off-spaces.
