Anna Zvyagintseva is an artist based in Kyiv, working across drawing, sculpture, installation, video, and painting. Her practice is concerned with the body, paths, useless actions, and small gestures, and with potentiality: doing something without a clear purpose. She looks at how hesitation and mistakes can lead to unexpected encounters and outcomes, and many of her works are an attempt to follow the movement of thought and the productive force of doubt. Her work has been shown at the Ukrainian Pavilion of the 56th Venice Biennale, the Kyiv Biennial, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, and Palais de Tokyo, and she received the PinchukArtCentre Prize in 2017.
During her residency at PART, Anna Zvyagintseva will explore how a home can be made without walls. She will also engage with Vienna’s art community and look into the legacy of Victor Papanek, whose book Design for the Real World has long shaped her thinking.
