Elliot Camarra is an artist and researcher based in New York, working primarily in sculpture and three-dimensional forms. Her interdisciplinary practice investigates the politics of record-keeping and memory, foregrounding the productive tension between preservation and loss, how what we choose to document shapes what endures, and what those choices reveal about desire, care, and absence. Her work draws formal influence from both the domestic and the archaeological, frequently employing repetition and accumulation as material analogues for the act of remembering itself, transforming mundane objects and archival gestures into meditative sculptural interventions.
Vienna holds particular significance in Camarra's research and artistic imagination. The city's material culture and architectural history—especially its turn-of-the-century domestic interiors, with their layered narratives and preserved spaces. During her residency at PART, Camarra will pursue intensive archival and historical research into Viennese interiors and material practices, while simultaneously developing work toward a forthcoming exhibition. Beyond her studio and archival work, she will be engaging with Vienna's contemporary art community, contributing to ongoing conversations about how artistic practice intersects with historical consciousness and material heritage.
