Patrick Nii Okanta Ankrah works as a curator and artist to treat art as a "zero point”, a space where different spheres of life fuse rather than remain separate. Working between Tamale and Accra, he approaches exhibition-making as an interdisciplinary practice, pulling in people and the banal, overlooked facets of everyday existence rather than isolating art in a purely symbolic register. For Patrick, curating is less about arranging objects than about creating conditions for life itself to unfold within the exhibition space.

During the residency, Patrick will continue this line of inquiry, extending his interest in art as a generative, life-making act into new curatorial research. Drawing on his experience building interdisciplinary exhibitions and public programme, from community-rooted projects in Ghana to large-scale international contexts such as the Ljubljana Biennale, he will investigate how curatorial frameworks can hold space for collective, everyday, and even unresolved forms of meaning-making, asking not only what a curator selects and shows, but what kind of shared life an exhibition can bring into being.
